How STL Splitter handles your files
Last updated: November 4, 2026
The STL splitter workspace processes model files locally in your browser. The application has no model-upload endpoint, account system or server-side geometry processing.
Your model files
The selected file is read by a Web Worker on your device. Parsing, mesh validation, cutting, sealing and export run there using WebAssembly. Geometry stays in browser memory; the application does not save models to cookies, local storage or a database. Replacing a file releases the previous model; closing the tab ends that workspace. Files you download are saved wherever your browser directs them. The manual STL cutter uses the same local processing.
Website requests and storage
Your browser still requests the website’s HTML, JavaScript, styles and WebAssembly files. If hosted publicly, the hosting provider may receive normal connection information, such as your IP address, request path and browser headers. The tool itself does not set tracking cookies and does not use third-party fonts, advertising scripts or remote analytics in this version.
Activity recorded in your browser
The tool keeps temporary activity records while the page is open, such as a successful split or download, the selected mode, number of pieces and file format. These records are also available in your browser’s diagnostic console. They do not contain your filename or model geometry, are not saved by the application between visits and are not sent to an analytics service.
Optional affiliate links
Any affiliate recommendation displayed by the site is labeled beside its link. Views and clicks on those recommendations use the same temporary browser records described above. Following an external link opens a separate website with its own privacy policy. Your model data is never attached to that link.
